KTYX is the NEXRAD WSR-88D weather radar at Montague, New York, known locally as the Montague radar. The antenna stands on Sears Pond Road in the town of Montague, in Lewis County in the Tug Hill region east of Lake Ontario, about 15 km from Lowville and 31 km from Watertown. The Department of Defense owns and maintains it and named it for Fort Drum, 34 km away; the National Weather Service operates it from its Burlington, Vermont office, in cooperation with the Air Force's 18th Combat Weather Squadron detachment at Fort Drum. The NWS lists the antenna at 1,960 feet above sea level.

The radar was originally in the town of Lewis, attached to Griffiss Air Force Base, and was moved to Montague in 1996 after Griffiss closed. The Tug Hill Commission notes that Tug Hill receives the most snowfall east of the Rocky Mountains and that the radar is integral to forecasting its lake effect snowstorms; because the site is a local high point, its scans reach long distances without terrain in the way.

The New York State Tug Hill Commission reports that the Maple Ridge, Copenhagen, Roaring Brook and Number Three wind farms, northeast to southeast of the radar and within 18 km of it, produce clutter that extends beyond the turbines and can be mistaken for weather or inflate precipitation estimates. Radar shows rain, snow and hail, not cloud, and nothing below its lowest beam; far from the antenna the beam passes high above the ground.
