KMPX is the NEXRAD WSR-88D weather radar for Minneapolis and Saint Paul. It stands at Chanhassen in Carver County, the south-western suburb where the National Weather Service's Twin Cities/Chanhassen forecast office is located, at 1733 Lake Drive West. The office describes its site as about 25 miles south-west of downtown Minneapolis and 17 miles west-south-west of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Eden Prairie and Minnetonka are each within about 9 km of the antenna.

The NWS Radar Operations Center names the station Minneapolis and lists the radar site as Chanhassen. NCEI's station inventory carries Minneapolis as the principal name and Chanhassen as an alias, with WBAN number 94983, and dates its record from November 1995. Wikipedia's list of NEXRAD sites gives a data start of May 1995 and places the site in Carver County.
