KSHV is the National Weather Service NEXRAD WSR-88D weather radar at Shreveport, Louisiana, in Caddo Parish. The NWS forecast office at Shreveport is responsible for it. NCEI's station record for the radar begins in October 1995, and Wikipedia's list of NEXRAD sites gives August 1995 as the start of its data.
Shreveport and Bossier City are about 12 km from the antenna, and Marshall and Longview, across the line in Texas, are among the larger places nearby. After Hurricane Laura destroyed the Lake Charles radar in August 2020, the Shreveport radar was one of those used to fill the gap in southwestern Louisiana until that site was rebuilt.
Radar shows rain, snow and hail, not cloud, and nothing below its lowest beam; far from the antenna the beam passes high above the ground.
