KOHX is the National Weather Service NEXRAD WSR-88D weather radar at Old Hickory, Tennessee, northeast of Nashville. The NWS lists the radar's location as Old Hickory, and NCEI's station record places it in Wilson County. The Nashville forecast office, which is responsible for the radar, is at Langford's Cove on Old Hickory Lake in northwest Wilson County, with an Old Hickory mailing address. The office has warning responsibility for 38 counties across Middle Tennessee, from the Tennessee River in the west to the Cumberland Plateau in the east. Wikipedia's list of NEXRAD sites gives 13 October 1994 as the start of the radar's data.
Old Hickory itself is a neighbourhood of Nashville in eastern Davidson County. Green Hill is about 3 km from the antenna, Mount Juliet, Hermitage and Hendersonville are within 10 km, and Nashville is about 22 km away to the southwest. Gallatin, Lebanon, Murfreesboro, Franklin and Clarksville are the largest places nearby.
Radar shows rain, snow and hail, not cloud, and nothing below its lowest beam; far from the antenna the beam passes high above the ground.
