KHNX is a NEXRAD WSR-88D weather radar at Hanford in Kings County, California, about 2 km from the city and 50 km south of Fresno. The National Weather Service lists it as San Joaquin Valley. The Radar Operations Center gives the antenna's location as Hanford, and the NWS San Joaquin Valley forecast office, at 900 Foggy Bottom Road in Hanford, is responsible for it.
Visalia is 30 km to the east, Tulare 28 km to the east-southeast, Lemoore 14 km to the west and Corcoran 25 km to the south.
Wikipedia's list of NEXRAD sites gives March 1995 as the start of its data record.
Radar shows rain, snow and hail, not cloud, and nothing below its lowest beam; far from the antenna the beam passes high above the ground.
