KGGW is the NEXRAD WSR-88D weather radar for Glasgow, Montana. The antenna stands in Valley County on the northeast side of Glasgow, about 1.4 km from the town centre. The National Weather Service operates it; the Radar Operations Center lists the Glasgow forecast office, at 92 Airport Road, as the responsible office.
The office's history records staff moving into the new NWS office in August 1995 and the Glasgow WSR-88D being commissioned on 15 August 1996, the date the Radar Operations Center also gives; the dual-polarisation upgrade was completed in August 2012. NCEI's archive of the radar's data begins in February 1996. The tower is 20 m high. NWS Glasgow provides forecast and warning services for a twelve-county area of northeast Montana that includes the Fort Peck Reservation. Wolf Point, Malta, Poplar and Jordan are among the nearby places.
Radar shows rain, snow and hail, not cloud, and nothing below its lowest beam; far from the antenna the beam passes high above the ground.
