KEYX is a NEXRAD WSR-88D weather radar in San Bernardino County, California, about 14 km northeast of Boron and 26 km from North Edwards. The National Weather Service lists it as Edwards AFB and NCEI names it Edwards, with Boron as an alias. The Radar Operations Center places it among the network's Department of Defense radars, with the Las Vegas forecast office holding its control facility.
Edwards Air Force Base itself lies mostly in Kern County, with its eastern end in San Bernardino County and a southern arm in Los Angeles County; the base's main area is about 40 km southwest of the antenna. California City is 39 km to the west, Barstow 54 km to the southeast and Lancaster 69 km to the southwest.
Wikipedia's list of NEXRAD sites gives August 1995 as the start of its data record.
Radar shows rain, snow and hail, not cloud, and nothing below its lowest beam; far from the antenna the beam passes high above the ground.
