Terms

Terms of use

Alerua LLC, an Arizona company, provides the website at alerua.com and the Alerua Radar apps for iPhone and Mac. Using them means agreeing to these terms. Contact: zachary@alerua.com.

What it is

Alerua shows weather radar and related data from public sources: the radar network of the United States National Weather Service, the German, Finnish and other European weather services and the EUMETNET OPERA programme, warnings from the National Weather Service and MeteoAlarm, hurricane forecasts from the National Hurricane Center, and forecast maps from NOAA’s GFS model. Each source’s own terms and credit apply to its data, and Alerua is not affiliated with any of them.

It is not a warning service

Data can be late, missing or wrong, and the service can be down. Do not use Alerua to decide anything about your safety or anyone else’s. Follow your national weather service and your local authorities.

Availability

The service is free and offered as it is and as available, with no promise that it will be available, complete or correct. We may change it or stop it at any time, and we may block use that breaks these terms.

Your use

Use the site and the apps as a person looking at the weather, and only if you are 13 or older. Do not scrape the service, flood it with requests, work around the bot check, or resell what it shows.

What belongs to whom

The Alerua name, the apps, the website and their design belong to Alerua LLC. You may use the service for yourself and share its share links. Data from public sources remains under the terms of the agency that publishes it.

Share links

A share link shows a radar’s recent loop and may be posted or embedded anywhere. The picture updates on its own, and we may change or withdraw the links.

Maps

The maps come from Mapbox and are covered by the Mapbox terms of service. Map data © Mapbox, © OpenStreetMap contributors.

The apps

The apps are distributed through Apple. Apple’s standard licensed application end user license agreement applies to them, and while they are in beta Apple’s TestFlight terms apply as well. Apple is not responsible for the apps or for support.

Liability

The service is provided without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Alerua LLC is not liable for any loss that comes from using the service, from being unable to use it, or from anything it shows. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be waived.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Arizona, except where the law of your home country gives you the right to bring a claim there.

Changes

We may update these terms, and using the service after a change means you accept it. The date below shows the current version.
